Refractive lens exchange

Mostly glasses free!

In patients with advanced or incipient presbyopia cataract the eye's own lens is explanted and replaced with an artificial lens (refractive lens exchange).

This lens can either be monofocal or multifocal. With monofocal lenses only one distance is taken into account and vision will normally by optimised for the distance. To have proper vision in close or medium distance, reading or computer glasses will be necessary. In contrast, patients with multifocal intraocular lenses usually live without glasses in all viewing distances and enjoy natural visual comfort.

The approach of the refractive lens exchange is similar to that of cataract surgery. During an intensive consultation and while implementing all the necessary preliminary tests, we adapt to your needs and desired vision comfort.
